  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add Italian sausage; cook until browned.
  4. Stir in garlic, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss.
  7. Stir in fresh basil and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve topped with parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, add 1/2 cup of heavy cream.
