  • 6 large eggs, separated

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks, then add the oil, water, vanilla, and pureed strawberries.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into a chiffon cake pan and bake for 50-60 minutes.
  8. Once baked, invert the pan to cool before removing the cake.
