Turtle Caramel Cake

A delicious and rich turtle caramel cake featuring layers of chocolate, caramel, and nuts.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla; mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into greased cake pans.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool before adding layers of caramel sauce and pecans.
  7. Assemble the cake with layers of chocolate cake, caramel sauce, and chopped pecans.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, drizzle additional caramel sauce on top before serving.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
