Strawberry Sheet Shortcake

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add butter, eggs, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased sheet pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cake to cool completely.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until peaks form.
  8. Spread whipped cream over the cooled cake and top with fresh strawberries.
