  • 1 bay leaf

  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, ham, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic.
  2. Add thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the bay leaf before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can include a splash of lemon juice.
  • This soup can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
