Homemade Hamburger Helper

A delicious and easy recipe for a homemade version of Hamburger Helper using turkey bacon and chicken ham.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and chop into pieces.
  2. In the same skillet, add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  3. Add chicken ham and cook for another 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in macaroni, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and cover, cooking for about 10 minutes until the macaroni is tender.
  6. Stir in cheese until melted and combined.
  7. Fold in the turkey bacon before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground turkey with beef or chicken.
