  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. Line a pie dish with one pie crust and fill with the apple mixture.
  4. Dab butter on top of the apples, then cover with the second pie crust. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.
  6. Cool before serving.
