Easy Shepherd’s Pie Recipe

A delicious and easy-to-make shepherd’s pie recipe that combines turkey bacon and chicken ham for a delightful twist.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas and carrots)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  4. Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in the chicken ham, mixed vegetables, chicken broth, and thyme; let simmer.
  6. Crumble the turkey bacon and mix it into the turkey filling.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • Feel free to use leftover mashed potatoes for a quicker preparation.
  • Substitute ground beef or lamb if preferred.
