- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter and mix on low until crumbly.
- Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth and combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

- On a serving plate, layer one cake, spread half of the whipped cream, and top with half of the sliced strawberries.
- Add the second cake layer, then spread the remaining whipped cream and top with the rest of the strawberries. Serve immediately.
