Creamy One-Pot Broccoli Cheddar Orzo

A delicious and easy one-pot meal combining creamy orzo pasta with broccoli, cheddar cheese, and turkey bacon.

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 strips turkey bacon
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the turkey bacon and cook until crispy.
  3. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pot.
  4. Add the orzo and stir to coat in the drippings.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Add broccoli, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  7. Cook until orzo is al dente and broccoli is tender, about 10 minutes.
  8. Stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  9. Top with crispy turkey bacon and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra creamy texture, add more cheese.
  • You can substitute regular bacon if preferred.
