Best Ever Fish Pie

A delicious and comforting fish pie that is perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams white fish fillets
  • 250 grams smoked fish
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 100 grams peas
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 80 grams grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a pan, melt butter and sauté onion and carrots until soft.
  3. Add the flour and cook for another minute.
  4. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in the fish, mustard, peas, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes and cheese.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden.

  • For extra flavor, add some fresh herbs.
