Apple Bread

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 cups peeled and diced apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
  • This bread can be served warm or at room temperature.
